I’m currently working on a new song with my friend Cyrus from Edria titled “Irreparable”. Someone mentioned to me that he’d never heard the word pronounced the way I sing it in the song — with the accent on “par” and it being pronounced “pair”. I was a bit worried for a while there but thanks to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary (with audio!), I was able to quickly verify that this is a perfectly valid alternate pronunciation:
